There are a group of teachers and students busy with the experiments in the labs in the fabulous mysterious building of School of Life Science everyday. For visitors, some labs were available displaying the mysteries of life. Auditory Lab, the lab of large biological molecules, the lab of bird ecology research, the lab of neurodevelopment and damage repair, the lab of cognitive neuropsychology and vision research lab were all open to the visitors and each lab had a volunteer narrator explaining to the visitors the details for each of the lab.
The specimens were eye catching. It was one of the highlights of the display. The specimens were collected from the students. Various animals and plants were made into long-kept specimens during the students’ leisure time. There was another kind of live specimen, the flowers. The students gathered the beautiful flowers from everywhere and contributed their flowers to the exhibition, sharing the beauty of the nature with the visitors.
Do you know that plants can travel besides the animals? Do you know the mysterious life beneath the azure sea water? Do you know the psalm of life, the story of penguin? The educational science video display brought the visitors into the World of Reality.
What instruments do the scientists use when conducting the experiments? Large facility-sharing platforms were open on May 19th and 20th, 2012. The volunteers introduced the basic knowledge of the equipment to the visitors. The microscope, X-ray crystal diffraction, flow cytometer, and the electroencephalograph were on display. Some visitors received hand-on training by using the equipments under the guidance of volunteers.
