Academic Contributions and Impact
- Over 30 years in clinical and basic research on bone and joint diseases and bone defect repair.
- Trained 2 PhD and 30 master's students.
- Pioneered the lateral decubitus direct anterior approach for hip replacement, known as the Shang Approach, and invented femoral proximal osteotomy reconstruction (Shang Osteotomy).
- Contributed to international guidelines on periprosthetic joint infection and Chinese consensus on hip and knee arthroplasty.
- Published 17 SCI papers as first or corresponding author in bone and soft tissue regeneration, with a total impact factor of 44.083 and approximately 223 citations.
