Academic Achievements and Impact
Chen Zhu has dedicated over a decade to clinical teaching, basic and applied research in orthopedics. He currently supervises 5 doctoral candidates and 15 master’s students. His research achievements have earned him several awards, including:
- The Second Prize in the Young Scholars Competition for Basic Orthopedics at the 22nd Academic Conference of the Chinese Orthopedics Association (15th COA)

In the past five years, focusing on the technological innovation of orthopedic joint replacement surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of prosthetic joint infections, he has published 48 SCI papers as a corresponding author, including articles in prestigious international journals such as Science Advances (IF: 13.6), Nature Communications (IF: 16.6, 2 papers), Advanced Materials (IF: 29.4, 2 papers), Arthritis & Rheumatology (IF: 13.3), Advanced Functional Materials (IF: 19.0, 3 papers), Angewandte Chemie (IF: 16.6), Biomaterials (IF: 14.0), Nano Today (IF: 17.4), Drug Resistance Updates (IF: 24.3), Small (IF: 13.3, 3 papers), Bioactive Materials (IF: 18.9, 2 papers), and Advanced Science (IF: 15.1). Among these, 26 papers have an IF > 10, with a total IF > 500 and 1,167 citations. He is the first inventor on 10 authorized national patents, 4 of which have been clinically applied. He has participated in formulating 5 clinical expert consensus guidelines and established the Orthopedic Laboratory, Precision Medicine and 3D Printing Laboratory, and Prosthetic Joint Infection Clinical Sample Bank at the University of Science and Technology of China.
